Definition
A municipal record of property ownership used in some Indian states, especially Karnataka, that captures the property owner's name for taxation.
An A-Khata signifies the property is fully compliant; a B-Khata indicates a property registered for tax but not necessarily compliant. Buyers usually want A-Khata properties.
